LSA Program

Local Share Account (LSA) is a state-managed grant program in Pennsylvania that distributes gaming revenues from casinos and slot machines to fund local community and economic development projects. Money comes from a portion of license fees and tax revenues generated by state-regulated gaming facilities and casinos under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. The funds are distributed through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) and administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). 

 

LSA grant proceeds are derived from three distinct funds: Local Share Account Statewide, Local Share Account Category 4 Facilities Program (Westmoreland County), and Hempfield Township as the host municipality for Live! Casino Pittsburgh. Both the Statewide and Category 4 Facilities Program LSAs are authorized and coordinated through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). 

 

Since Live! Casino began operations in 2020, Westmoreland County Municipalities and organizations have received over $75 million in distributions.
