Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia celebrates YEAR OF THE DRAGON with traditional festivities through February honoring Asian culture, including a specialty cocktail menu and installation at Luk Fu. The Dragon is the fifth animal in the Chinese zodiac, signifying power, nobility, honor, luck, and success.
February 17 - “CAI QING” Ceremony and Lion Dancers
At 6:00pm and 8:30pm, Live! will present a traditional “Cai Qing” Ceremony (pronounced Chai Ching), a customary and visually stunning ritual, featuring the “picking of the greens” by the “Lion” to bless the New Year and bring prosperity. Following the ceremony, the Lion Dancers and Live! executives will lead a parade across the casino floor, handing out red envelopes to bring good luck to guests.
Through February – 7textures Performances / Specialty Cocktail Menu at Luk Fu
Luk Fu, an Asian-inspired fusion restaurant, will be enlivened with festive Lunar New Year décor complemented by a specialty cocktail menu. On exclusive dates, guests can also enjoy immersive experiences and live performances by local artistic collective 7textures, a Philadelphia-based agency specializing in entertainment, styling and design. Performance are Thursday, February 1; Friday, February 9; and Saturday, February 10 from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
The unique cocktail experience will feature a menu of lucky libations ranging in price from $12.88 to $15.88 including:
- SoJu Bomb (SoMaek) - Charm SoJu, Stella Artois
- The Dragon- Agave nectar, Ypióca Prata Cachaça, lime juice, pinch of salt, chili pepper
- The Firecracker- Mount Gay Eclipse Rum, orange liqueur, watermelon, lime juice, simple syrup, crushed chili
- Spicy Margarita- Silver tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, agave syrup, jalapeño, salt rim
- Two shooters ($10.88 each):
- Green Tea Shot- Jameson Whiskey, peach schnapps, sour mix, citrus soda
- The Fortune Cookie Shot- Malibu Rum, melon liqueur, pineapple juice, cream
- Non-alcoholic options ($6.88 each) include: Yeo’s Soy Bean Milk, Yesho’s Coconut Drink and Wong Lo Kat’s Herbal Tea.
Luk Fu’s specialty menu is priced to include the lucky number “88” which signifies fortune and good luck in some Asian cultures.
Located inside Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, Luk Fu features contemporary Asian culinary flavors with distinctive twists, complemented by a robust cocktail list and sake selections.
